MRP SECRETARY ARRESTED AND OVER 100 POLICE, CIO, DOGS AND WATER CANNONS DEPLOYED TO DRIVE OFF JOB SEEKERS AT BULAWAYO KFC.

THE official opening of the United States-headquartered fast-food concern, KFC in Bulawayo under its local franchise, KFC Zimbabwe did not go well Saturday as police clashed with Bulawayo residents who felt marginalised on job opportunities.

Heavy police, CIOs deployed at KFC with dogs and Israeli made water canons, over a hundred job seekers chased away. MRP secretary for Bulawayo Province arrested and taken to Bulawayo central.

More than 100 police officers both in plain and in uniform have been deployed to crush poor Matabeleland job seekers.

MRP President and other NEC executive members in attendance.

KFC Zimbabwe diplomatic manager, Taurai Vaki, earlier during the week said the company has employed 45 people at its Bulawayo drive-through restaurant. Vaki indicated that the staff members were coming from Harare and this did not go down well with Mthwakazi pressure groups.

Mthwakazi Republic Party accused KFC, a newly opened fast food outlet in Bulawayo of letting down the local people by employing outsiders when the locals are job less.

MRP spokesperson Mbonisi Gumbo said: “As it has become the norm in Bulawayo that big corporate companies have also joined tribal segregation and marginalizing the people of Matabeleland through relocations or simply closing down companies, or worse still employing people from Harare”.

There is a letter purported to have been originated by KFC management apologising to Bulawayo residents for sidelining them. By the time of publishing the story, the authenticity of the letter had not been verified.

‘BELOW IS THE KFC letter’ doing rounds on social media:

KFC Zimbabwe takes note of their blunder of side-lining the local people from Bulawayo when they employed the staff for their establishment.

We would like to apologise to the people of Bulawayo. We pledge to uplift the community of Bulawayo and we are going to correct this. We are going to replace all of our staff we brought from Harare and leave a few who will assist in the training of the new staff.

We are going to be conducting interviews on Monday August 7 2017 at 10 am KFC Bradfield. We want to create equal opportunities for all sons and daughters of the City of Kings hence our decision to call all those who finished O Level and have a C or better grade in Ndebele Language.

Please note that we are looking at employing 65 team members and we would have like to employ more than that. Bring your Identity Document and O Level Certificate.

Because of the seriousness of the Bulawayo KFC issue, I have checked online and obtained the following detail about where to send your complaint to.
Use the following link and have your say on https://www.kfc.com/about/contact-us

Its a simple form to thats takes 1 minute to complete complete online depending on the length of your issue, basically asking

TELL US HOW WE’RE DOING
NEED TO TALK? CALL US AT
1-800-CALL-KFC
Is this feedback about KFC in general or a specific restaurant
and your experience? It gives you the opportunity to then say your piece about the matter. I advise the public to be objective, honest and demand answers and resolutions and ask how it will be proven that this has been done.

If the public give an honest opinion of the issue at hand, KFC will be forced to listen and respond not only to individuals but to issue a public statement. Speak out Zimbabweans! If KFC fail to act on the issue, it can blow out of proportion and be costly to their business as negative media will reach all corners and customers will potentially seek alternative food places because they are unhappy. Its in your hands, people of Zimbabwe! source-online
